Ward Councillor Emma Crane encourages Leam Valley residents to take advantage of free electric blanket safety testing on offer from Warwickshire Trading Standards. 

Bookings for the free annual safety check are now open to all Warwickshire residents over the age of 50 and will take place at various locations across Warwickshire during October. 

Cllr. Crane said, 'This is a great opportunity for Leam Valley residents to have their electric blankets tested for free to make sure they are safe and ready for winter.'

Warwickshire Trading Standards stated in a recent press release that one in every three of electric blankets tested failed and faulty electric blankets are a known cause of house fires in 2017. Safety tests will be carried out by an expert electrical examiner.
