Hillmorton Councillor Kathryn Lawrence has confirmed that the Borough Council will demolish the pavilion at Hillmorton Recreation Ground. Councillor Lawrence said, "We are delighted that we can now announce that our plans are coming to fruition and stage one, the demolition has been agreed by Rugby Borough Council."
The pavilion was built in the 1960s is now in a state of disrepair and has become a meeting place and target for vandals. A consultation will take place with the local the community before making a decision to either replace the pavilion or develop other facilities, such as play equipment, nature area or an outdoor gym. This is due to take place after the demolition.
