The county council tax for 2012/13 has been frozen at the rate of 2011/12 at the Warwickshire County Council meeting held on Tuesday 7th February.
The rate for a county council tax band D has been reset at £1,155.25.
That council tax is comprised of county council tax, district or borough council tax, Police Authority Tax and Parish/Town Council Tax. The other partners will set their tax levels at separate meetings and a definitive cost of the overall council tax for residents will be known by the end of the month.
Cllr Alan Farnell, leader of Conservative-led Warwickshire County Council, said: “Once again, we do not propose to increase the county council tax which remains at the level set back in 2010/11. We recognise that families’ budgets are being squeezed in these constrained times and we remain committed to providing residents with value for money.
“We have been able to keep council tax at the same level by, where possible, making extensive savings by working closely with partners, sharing accommodation, equipment and staff.
“We will continue the process of looking closely at how we deliver services and are prioritising the services that residents consider important.”
