Coton and Boughton Councillor Jill Simpson-Vince said, "Initial work has now started on Longstork Road, near Elstop Avenue to prepare for the creation of parking bays. This is work that was originally agreed in Coton Park's neighbourhood plan and I have allocated funding through my Warwickshire County Council highways budget for this work to happen."
Jill explains, "There will be parking bays created on both sides at this point, which means cars will not need to park on the road there. The spaces are not allocated to particular houses, so no one has gained an extra space and no one is entitled to use specific spaces, this is purely a solution to get the cars off the road, as agreed in the plan. This should make it easier for visibility and allow cars and buses easier access on that part of the road."
The current work is around moving streetlights, the main work will start on 7th January 2019 (weather permitting).
