Conservative led Rugby Borough Council confirms nearly £27 million in grants given to support businesses during the coronavirus pandemic.
In a press release issued this morning, the council confirmed it has distributed more than 5,700 grants to borough businesses since the first national lockdown in March 2020.
Cllr. Jill Simpson-Vince, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for growth and investment, said in todays council press release, "Since the start of the pandemic we've been acutely aware of the impact on businesses and our revenues team has targeted its resources on ensuring businesses know about the grant support on offer, while distributing financial support quickly."
"With a roadmap to reopening now in place, businesses have a degree of clarity and can start preparing for the future with cautious optimism."
