Conservative MEP for Coventry and Warwickshire, Philip Bradbourn, dropped into visit a flight simulator facility near Coventry Airport and took the opportunity to explore a simulator for himself.
Flight Simulators Midlands (FSM) was set up two years ago by a retired and current pilot and offers training opportunities. At the facility the company will be opening a new Airbus simulator which will be ready for boarding in April. FSM offers to the general public the chance to see what it is like to be a real airline pilot. Visitors are able to see any of the 3 simulators, a Boeing 737, a Boeing 747 (Jumbo) and now the Airbus A320.
These simulators are offered at a price which makes it an attractive option for budding pilots old and young and visitors can choose from a host of destinations to fly to and from. These include the mountains around Salzburg, the exciting approach at the old Hong Kong airport of Kai Tak or even the busy environment of Heathrow.
Speaking after the visit Mr. Bradbourn said; “This facility offers people an excellent opportunity to come and see what it’s like to be a pilot and is a great addition to Coventry's attractions. It’s great to see this facility here in the Midlands and I have no doubt it will be a great success.”
