Conservative led Rugby Borough Council has plans to provide a much needed revamp to two local parks in the town, Rokeby Open Space and Whinfield Recreation Ground.
Cllr. Howard Roberts, the portfolio holder for the environment and public realm, said in todays council press release; "The play areas at Rokeby and at Whinfield Rec have always been popular and I am pleased that we are now able to begin the process of bringing these valuable community sites up to date. Recent upgrades like the new play areas at Centenary Park, Newbold, and at Whitehall Recreation Ground, show that it is possible to create exciting, challenging play areas for children and young people within a wider environment that encourages people to spend more time out doors."
The Council is considering replacing the play area at Rokeby Open Space and Whinfield Recreation Ground, a new play area. Plans are in their initial stages and the council is keen to hear feedback from children, young people, nearby residents, or anyone else who may be affected.
