Cllr. Michael Stokes, Leader of Rugby Borough Council took questions from Councillors at this evenings joint Brooke and Whittle Overview Scrutiny Committees.
After a presentation from the Councils Executive Director, Cllr. Stokes expressed his views on partnership working and how much they add value for money for the taxpayer by helping to provide a great service at minimum cost. The Leader then answered questions from Councillors of various subjects such as access to funding from regional bodies, supporting equalities and diversity, the Councils plans for online services, Universal Credit and homelessness as well as identifying strengths in working with other Councils.
Cllr. Andrew Bearne, member of the Whittle Scrutiny Committee said, “As a new Councillor l found tonight’s meeting informative and explanatory on a wide range of important topics.”
Cllr. Dale Keeling, Deputy Chair of the Brooke Overview Scrutiny Committee said, “It’s great to have the opportunity for Councillors to ask questions including any follow up questions directly to the Leader of the Council, true democracy!”
