A notice to move on has been served on by council wardens to unauthorised encampments at Dunchurch Heath and Brownsover. The encampments came onto council land without permission yesterday (Sunday 7th July). They will have to demonstrate a need to stay, move or face arrest under the terms of an injunction obtained by the Conservative led borough council last year.
Cllr. Howard Roberts, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for environment and public realm, said in a press release today; “Unauthorised encampments often cause distress to residents and can take a lot of time and money to clean up. We will carry out health and wellbeing checks on everyone involved, and if all is well we will be able to move these encampments on without having to revisit the courts."
