Rugby's Conservative run Council are doing the right thing for Rugby by providing free parking to Christmas shoppers.
After 10am, all of the borough council's car parks will be free on the weekends running up to Christmas.
Conservative Councillor Heather Timms said: "Thanks to careful financial planning we have been able to give the town centre economy, and Rugby residents, a big boost this Christmas. With the recession ongoing, it's great to be able to announce some good news that will help families as they prepare for this special time of year."
The proposals are that on the following days, from 10am only, there will be free parking in all car parks operated by Rugby Borough Council, which are open. These car parks are John Barford, Railway Terrace, Gas Street, Old Market Square, North Street, Chestnut Field, Little Church Street, Westway, Evreux Way and Newbold Road:
•Saturdays 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th December 2011
•Sunday 4th, 11th, 18th December 2011 (John Barford car park closed on Sundays).
All town centre car parks will also be free all day on Sunday 27 November, for the annual Christmas lights switch-on.
